Using the power of a good story to build trust and togetherness

SenateSHJ > Perspectives » Using the power of a good story to build trust and togetherness

How CLOSE are you to those in your community? Do you share and listen to their stories. Have you ever noticed that when you share or hear a good story, it makes you feel closer to the people that story is shared with. This is one of the interesting insights from the Togetherness Index which we developed in 2020 to measure the impact of communications on social cohesion.

We know the power of a good story can have a positive impact on social cohesion. This is important at every level of society, from individuals to government, to bring communities together. We’ve been using this research to guide our clients so they can more effectively communicate with people in a way that will enhance trust and togetherness.

Want to know more? We recently had an article about the Togetherness Index published on Luminate, which is The Research Society’s online publication for sharing evidence based, thought leadership pieces.

If you like a good story, click on this link and have a read – it will only take 5 minutes.
